September Special Events                

After Labor Day, it may be back to school during the week but there are still great events happening at around the mountain throughout September.

Sept 10-12        Mountain Bike Races—Fluidride  Enduro DH Series #2   


Three days of long and challenging series   mountain bike races around Mt. Hood  and ending at Skibowl will featuring over 200 professional and amateur       mountain bike riders from throughout the Northwest. Friday:   Timberline to Tunnel on Bridal Veil Trail, Training 10 a.m., Rates start at 3 p.m. to  6 p.m.; Saturday:  Timberline to Government Camp, Races start at 11 a.m. to  2 p.m.  Sunday:   Skibowl Downhill   Training 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Races Noon; Awards at Skibowl 3 p.m.  Live music and a party will follow the Saturday races, starting after the races, at The Ratskeller in Government Camp.

Sept. 18       Mt. Hood Heritage Day—A Celebration of Mt. Hood   
     


This day-long event is a benefit for the t Mt. Hood Cultural Center & Museum.  Events at the Museum will include an open house, the opening of a special Hal Lidell photography exhibit, and appraisals of collectables.   Activities at the Adventure Park will feature a W’East Artisans show and sale, food booths and a Huckleberry cooking contest.   A shuttle bus will run between both sites.  The evening will feature a benefit auction for the Museum to be held at the Starlight Lodge at Skibowl beginning at 6 p.m.   $20 per person/$35 per couple include beverage tickets, appetizers and an annual museum membership.    Tickets, call 503 272-3301.



  Sept. 26    Dog Day at Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl
 


Dogs and their owners are invited to close the summer season at the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl with a fun run/walk through the Mt. Hood National Forest.  Proceeds from this first ever “Dog Day at Skibowl” will benefit Oregon Guide Dogs for the Blind, in Boring, Oregon.   Three routes will be marked for hiking on Dog Day:   a one-mile, easy/moderate; a two- mile moderate route, and a four-mile extreme course.   Cost per pet and single walker for Dog Day is $15 and includes one free ride on the Scenic Sky Chair.  Cost per dog with couple or family walkers is $20 and includes two free rides on the Scenic Sky Chair.   Each registered dog will also receive a             doggie goodie bag and event bandana.   (Note:  Dogs are not allowed on the Scenic Sky Chairs).  Register online at www.skibowl.com/summer/dogday  or call 503-222-2695.
